Giving Back to the Earth

Did you know that trees produce O2, Oxygen, which we as humans' breath in and without oxygen we would not be able to breath at all....

Did you also know that once we exhale from our lungs, the oxygen is turned to Corbon monoxide, or CO2. This CO2 is then breathed in by the trees and this their oxygen.

We help trees and without trees, we could not survive! This is known by some as the circle of life. If you take away a tree, it is said to be a good practice to give back and plant another tree to replace it. Doing this could have you feeling good and as though you have provided to earth something in return.

This is a small, baby tree, also known as a sapling tree. Saplings are to be planted in the ground, after buying them from your local landscaping nursery. Once bought, take it home and find the perfect stop to plant this small baby tree. Next you will take stakes and drive them into the ground. These sticks will be used as posts to tie the tree off to, allowing it to grow straight so that it will be big and tall, and safe in your yard. This process is called tree training. Not "training the tree" could result in strange growth and possibly a tree that can become dangerous to your Greenville, SC property and home.

Pruning the tree is a must while it is a sapling. This is the best time to trim and prune a tree, in the sapling stage when they are young and vigorous!  Pruning dead limbs will enhance growth from the sapling and cause new vegetation growth. You can also shape trees to your liking by pruning and trimming methods used.

Also make sure to dispose of all the sucker plants growing after you have planted the tree. It could be very dangerous to have two or more trees growing in the same spot. This could cause the ground to become unsupported, and the trees could uproot and fall.

Once you have finally put all this work into making this new tree grow big and strong, it will definitely be something you can wake up and drink a warm cup of coffee and look outside and be proud of what you have accomplished. There is not many feeling that can beat this feeling of a job well done!
